According to foreign media reports, in February, Apple announced a list of suppliers it is currently collaborating with, including Bosch's branch in Roitlingen, Germany. The above divisions include Bosch Automotive Electronics, so foreign media believe that Apple's autonomous vehicle project is still in progress.

An Apple spokesperson declined to comment on the cooperation between the two parties, while a Bosch spokesperson confirmed the existence of a cooperative relationship but refused to disclose specific details of the cooperation.

According to information on the Bosch website, Bosch Germany's Roitlingen branch also operates non automotive electronics businesses, such as sensors for consumer electronics devices. However, most of the products in this division are related to automobiles, including vehicle sensor components and electronic controllers that provide power for braking, steering, and other automotive systems.

Last year, Apple was repeatedly reported to have fired multiple engineers from its automotive projects, creating a false impression that its autonomous driving plan was stalled. However, before cooperating with Bosch, Apple had made public comments on the autonomous vehicle guidelines of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Last November, Steve Kenner, Apple's Director of Product Quality, submitted a letter to NHTSA strongly urging NHTSA to treat companies that have just entered the field of autonomous driving technology research and development fairly, and hoping to find the same treatment as established companies. "At present, (Apple) is increasing its investment in machine learning and automation, and is very optimistic about the application of automation systems in many fields, including transportation." So far, Apple's autonomous vehicle plan has been confirmed for the first time, and has again aroused speculation about the process of car building.
